Time for giving-Caring Tree Project
Oregon State Hospital’s
The Caring Tree Project
It’s that time of year to participate in the Oregon State Hospital’s Caring Tree Project. This project connects generous donors with State Hospital residents to make a small wish come true.
Here’s how it works: You pick a tag from the caring tree which describes a resident’s age, sex and a few items from their wish list. You purchase the gift(s) and get them to Monica Drost before or on Wednesday, December 7. The gifts are delivered, unwrapped,to the State Hospital to be distributed to the residents.
If you wish to participate, contact Monica by phone or email (see below). She will let you choose one or more of the Caring Tree tags. Donations can be gifts, gift cards or money (which will be used to buy a gift).
Thank you so much for your participation!
Important Caring Tree Instructions
Unwrapped gifts should be returned to Monica Drost no later than December 7, 2019. If you would like me to pick them up, call 541-740-0395 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Gifts should be new and unwrapped. If you would include gift paper or a shirt box with your gift, it would be much appreciated. We do not use holiday gift bags.
Please do not purchase gifts that have metal or glass in them. (Examples: spiral notebooks, mirrors, metal zippers, candy wrapped in foil or make-up sets with pencil sharpeners.)
On requests for walk-mans, please make sure that the headphones are plastic, not metal. Ear buds are the best.
Gifts should cost around $25.00 (average) to ensure equality among patients. If a patient’s gift request costs significantly more than that, you may choose to buy the other suggested gift.
Questions? You may email or call Monica Drost, email@example.com or 541-740-0395.
